The Aviatrix
In 2018, Carol Baxter's book The Fabulous Flying Mrs Miller was contracted by Aquarius Film (Australia) and Apogee Pictures (UK) to be turned into a television series called The Aviatrix.
Aquarius Film was one of the producers of the Academy Award-nominated film, Lion, starring Dev Patel, Nicole Kidman, David Wenham (aka "Diver Dan") and Rooney Mara. It was one of Australia's most successful feature films.
The producers of The Aviatrix have decided to run with an all-female production team: a female author (Carol), three female producers, a female screenwriter, and a female director. These roles have already been filled and the pilot screenplay has been written. The role of Mrs Miller has been cast (she's recently played an important role in a big-name feature film) and the producers are now in conversation with the streaming services.
