In this case, I am making this offer so I can build up my mailing list with the names of people interested in reading my books and learning from my knowledge. The only way I can let people know about the publication of my "non-fiction thrillers" and my "how to" books, as well as my seminars and webinars and other teaching vehicles, is to communicate with them via a newsletter. There is a cost in producing books, and in hiring halls for seminars (or having genealogical/historical societies host them), so the more people who know about them the better. As for webinars - which I would like to do regularly - it costs $1000-$5000 per year for the licence. Gulp! I need to be able to cover these costs and make a profit so I can keep doing them, otherwise I have to find other ways of making a living.
Once I have enough names on my mailing list, I will begin to offer these learning opportunities. My aim, for example, is to offer some webinars for free and others at the low cost of $10 per webinar.
